to the prophet. At 7:14–16 we hear of a similar provision of a name (Immanuel) and promises associated with it. The name reechos at 8:8 and 8:10 in visions of the future. But we hear nothing about the birth as such, as a concrete fulfillment of the word spoken to the prophet, which was to be a sign for the house of David.
